Built in the late 1930s, and designed by William
Bell Jr., Tilden Park has long been enjoyed by
golfers for it's forested setting within the East
Bay Regional Park high in the hills above UC
Berkeley. Tilden's straight uphill, 400-plus yard
par-4 first hole is probably the toughest opener
in the Bay Area. The par-3 16th sits at the
highest point on the course, with views of the
bay and a plateau green 200 yards away.
