Tributary (Pete Wlodkowski for AmateurGolf.com)
The golf season in Idaho might not be long, but members of Tributary don't have to worry about that. That's because they live in a true four-season community near Teton and Yellowstone National Parks and two world-class ski areas. So, just as a group of golf writers visited and saw the first snow of the season collecting in the Teton range above, we knew that ski season was just around the corner.
We got some fly fishing in too.
But the main draw for AmateurGolf.com was to play the golf course, and I got to do so with the man who designed the original (formerly known as Huntsman Springs) and then made changes in 2023 and 2024 -- David McLay Kidd.
He loves the game, and as he leaves a legacy on the earth below him, Kidd believes the game should be played on the ground just as much as it is in the air. According to Kidd, watching the ball react on the ground is where drama is created. And after 45 holes at Tributary, I couldn't agree more.
