California's Stevinson Ranch Golf Course to close on July 18
Stevinson Ranch, Hole No. 1
STEVINSON, Calif. (May 19, 2015) -- This is
some
news we hoped to never have to share. But
sadly,
the combination of California's severe drought
and a
reduction in rounds played have forced
Stevinson
Ranch to make the difficult decision to close
later
this Summer.
The highly-acclaimed course, co-designed by
John
Harbottle and managing partner George
Kelley, has
been a favorite of California players since it
opened
for play in 1995. And it's the only course I've
ever
played that provides a tournament-quality
course
that stretches out to 7180 yards, while at the
same
time not taking itself too seriously. A
"Constitution of Fun" is posted outside the
clubhouse, and if you're not smiling when you
get off
the course the staff does an awesome job of
fixing
that within a few minutes of stepping foot into
the
19th hole.
"It's been the goal of our great staff from day
one to provide each customer with a truly
memorable experience," said Kelley. "I
regret that California is going to lose a course
that
has become so well-known and highly
regarded.
We hope everyone will visit and play this gem
one
last time.
