Sanchez wins Texas Medalist Hill Country finale
Kerrville, TX (May 1, 2011) -- The Club at Comanche Trace played host to the final Medalist Hill Country event of the year as a preview to the State Four-Ball which the club will host in two weeks. Edward Sanchez, of San Antonio, fired two rounds of even par 72 to earn a four shot victory.
Sanchez, a Comanche Trace member, trailed by two shots going into the final round, but his consistent play led to his first Medalist victory.
Trevor Hyde, of Kerrville, shot rounds of 70-78 to finish in second place.
Hyde was named the Medalist Hill Country Player of the Year thanks to his top finish in the Player of the Year point standings. Trevor Hyde also earned an exemption into the 2011 State Mid-Amateur Championship to be held at Carlton Woods Sep. 30-Oct. 2.
