Jaden Soong Holds On to Win 50th Boys Junior PGA Championship

The 16-year-old from Burbank closed with a 73 at Fields Ranch East and won by one at 7-under 281 to claim the boys title.

Jaden Soong closed with a 1-over 73 and held off a hard-charging field by a single stroke Friday to win the 50th Boys Junior PGA Championship at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco, Texas.

The 16-year-old from Burbank, Calif., began the final round with a two-shot cushion at 8-under 208 and never surrendered the outright lead, though the margin shrank to nothing more than one shot down the closing stretch. His 72-67-69-73 finish left him at 7-under 281.
