Defending champ Alex Schaake takes Nebraska Amateur lead
BEATRICE, Nebraska (July 29, 2017) -- Defending Champion Alex Schaake of Omaha took control of the lead after the third round of the 109th Nebraska Amateur Championship at Beatrice Country Club.
Schaake came from two strokes behind to take the lead after seven holes, and he'll take a four-stroke lead into the final round after a 5-under 67, which moved him to 11-under with one round to play. John Sajevic, the 1989 Champion, fell back into third place at 6-under after following up the back-to-back rounds of 68 he posted in rounds one and two with a 74 on Saturday.
Lincoln's Michael Colgate, at 7-under, climbed into second after a round of 6-under 66.

BEATRICE, Nebraska (July 28, 2017) -- Fremont's John Sajevic soared into the lead after the second round of the 109th Nebraska Amateur Championship at Beatrice Country Club.
Sajevic, the 61-year-old and 1989 Champion, took off from the start and never let go of the lead, shooting a second straight 68 (-4) to take a two-stroke lead at 136 (-8). Defending Champion Alex Schaake of Omaha made a move shooting 66 (-6), and is tied for second with Lincoln's David Easley at 6-under.
