VARIOUS SITES ACROSS THE USA (June-July 2017) - Qualifying for the 2017 U.S. Women's Amateur has been completed at 23 qualifying sites across the U.S., and in Canada.
156 players will tee it up at
San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, CA for the 117th edition of the biggest championship in the women's amateur game.

The USGA had to get a whole lot of extra medals made for the Flower Mound, TX qualifier after seven players shot 69 to share medalist honors. Amazingly, since seven qualifying spots were available, no playoff was needed. Among those advancing were current Eastern Amateur champion
Elizabeth Bose (Norfolk, VA), current Southern Amateur champion
Lindsey McCurdy (Liberty Hill, TX), and last year's Dixie Amateur champion
Yujeong Son (Norman, OK).

2016 U.S. Women's Open qualifier
Rinko Mitsunaga (Roswell, GA) was the co-medalist at the Roswell, GA qualifier shooting 69. 2017 U.S. Women's Open qualifier
Natalie Srinivasan (Spartanburg, SC) advanced from the qualifier, as did 2013 Dixie Women's Amateur champion
Shannon Aubert (France) after winning a playoff for the final qualifying spot.
Players from Chinese Taipei took three of the six spots available at the Rancho Cucamonga, CA qualifier.
Chia Yen Wu,
Tze Han Lin, and
Han Hsuan Yu will all be in the field at San Diego Country Club.

Brooke Seay (Rancho Santa Fe, CA) advanced from a 5-for-3 playoff after shooting 72 at the Scottsdale, AZ qualifier.

Erica Shepherd (Greenwood, IN) survived a 3-for-2 playoff to take the final spot at the Portage, MI qualifier.
Janet Mao (Johns Creek, GA), winner of last year's NCAA Women's Central Regional, shot a 71 to advance from the Hoffman Estates, IL qualifier.
June 30
French players took the top three spots at the Williamsburg, VA qualifier.
Agathe Laisne shot a 68 to win by one shot over
Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, with
Mathilde Claisse another shot behind in third.

Lucy Li (Redwood Shores, CA), the youngest player ever to qualify for the U.S. Women's Amateur as a 10-year-old in 2013, shot a 69 to advance from the Cameron Park, CA qualifier.

Sarah Burnham (Maple Grove, MN) shot a 71 to advance from the Woodbury, MN qualifier.

Lois Kaye Go of the Philippines, the current Porter Cup champion, was co-medalist at the Advance, NC qualifier with a 71.
Sophia Schubert (Knoxville, TN), a semifinalist in the last two Women's Western Amateurs, shot a 70 to get through the Dayton, OH qualifier. Last year's Women's Western Amateur champion
Jillian Hollis (Rocky River, OH) shot a 72 and then won a 3-for-1 playoff for the final qualifying spot.
July 10
Alyaa Abdulghany (Newport Beach, CA), who made the final 32 in last year's U.S. Women's Amateur, shot a 70 at the Los Angeles, CA.
Amy Lee (Brea, CA), currently #26 in the
Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Amateur Rankings, also advanced with a 72.
Tatiana Wijaya (Indonesia), runner-up in the 2017 NCAA Women's West Regional, took the final spot in a 3-for-1 playoff.

Sofia Garcia (Paraguay), the 2015 and 2016 South American Women's Amateur champion, shot a 66 to win the Houston, TX qualifier by three shots.
Hailee Cooper (Montgomery, TX), who made the final 16 in the U.S. Women's Amateur last year and the final 32 the year before, shot a 72 to advance.
July 11
2013 U.S. State Team individual champion
Bryana Nguyen (Columbia, MD) shot a 67 to medal by four shots at the Bethesda, MD qualifier.
July 13
Four qualifying spots were available, and four medals were handed out at the Boynton Beach, FL qualifier.

Mary Janiga (West Palm Beach, FL), Ramya Meenakshisundaram (Jacksonville, FL), and Alexa Rivas (Miami, FL) all shot 71.

Meghan Stasi (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) won a four woman playoff for the final spot at the Lawrence, KS qualifier after shooting a 73.
At the lone qualifier held outside the United States, Canadians Kathrine Chan and
Mary Parsons advanced from Richmond CC in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.
The 117th
U.S. Women's Amateur begins August 7 at San Diego Country Club with the first round of stroke play qualifying. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the low 64 players for match play.
