Frazer Droop rallies to claim Australia Dunes Medal

VICTORIA, Australia (November 25, 2016) -- Frazer Droop overcame a two-stroke deficit at the start of the day to win the Dunes Medal at The Dunes Golf Club. Droop shot a final round 3-under 69 to finish 6-under and flip that two shot deficit into a two shot win.
Throughout the week Droop shot rounds of 69-76-68-69 with his only black figure round coming during the second round.
Third round pace setter Shae Wools-Cobb (-4) ended up runner-up after shooting a 1-over 73 in the final round. Cameron John (-2) and midway point leader Dylan Perry (-2) shared third while David Micheluzzi (+2) was fifth.
ROUND THREE RECAP
Shae Wools-Cobb has moved to 5-under and the 54-hole lead at the Dunes Medal at The Dunes Golf Club. Wools-Cobb has combined rounds of 70-71-70 thus far and he will carry a one-stroke lead into the final round.
So far this season Wools-Cobb has put together four AmateurGolf.com Ranking event top-10 finishes, including a quarterfinal run at the Australian Amateur.
Haydn Barron (-4) is in second, Frazer Dropp (-3) and second round leader Dylan Perry (-3) share third with Cameron John (-2) in fifth.
