2017 U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball field is taking shape
(October 20, 2016) -- Qualifying for the 2017 U.S.
Women's Amateur Four-Ball at The Dunes Golf and
Beach Club is well underway and a number of tickets
have been punched to the May event.
So far the most notable team to qualify is the duo
of Meghan Stasi and Dawn Woodard. Playing out of
Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club in Killen, AL one of
the tournament favorites posted a bogey-free 6-under
66. Stasi, a four-time U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur
winner, and Woodard birdied two of the first four holes
but then fell into a lull before birdieing four straight
from Nos. 12-15.
Woodard has had a success in USGA events as well,
making it to match play at the U.S. Women's Mid-
Amateur five times. In 2006 Woodard earned medalist
honors and she made her farthest run in 2009 when she
reached the quarterfinals. Woodard also finished second
in the individual standings at the 2009 U.S. Women's
State Team.
