Olympia Fields Four Ball: Haggard, Noel lead
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. (May 29, 2014) -- Chris Haggard and Chris Noel shot a first-round 67 and lead by a shot at the 2014 Olympia Fields Four Ball.
At Olympia Fields Country Club, Haggard and Noel lead a national field entering the second round of action on Friday.
Steve Hoffman and Ryan Utnage are alone in second after shooting 68 while the teams of Tom DeStefani and Larry Meyers, Terry Werner and Skip Runnels and Danny Riskam and Pete Mangold all shot 69 and are tied for third place.
DeStefani and Meyers also lead the Senior Division, finishing a shot better than Tom Norton and John Peters after Round 1.
Defending champions Mike Wagner and Brett Martin are not in the field but 2012 winner Brad Nurski is, although he's with a different partner.
The Olympia Fields Four Ball is a 36-hole championship played on the North and South courses at Olympia Fields, which will host the 2015 U.S. Amateur Championship. The annual event draws a solid field of national mid-amateurs.

ABOUT THE Olympia Fields Four-Ball
**Will return in 2024 after a course renovation and
hosting the BMW Championship.**
Tournament is 36 holes, 18 on the North and 18 on
the South. The North course is the more famous,
having hosted the U.S. Open. But the South
Course, renovated in 2008 is now the preferred
club of the members and is slated to host several
important professional and amateur tournaments in
the coming years.
This is an invitational event with entries
usually being sent to U.S. Mid Amateur qualifiers
and
other players of note. Combined team index of 6.0
or
less is required to be accepted into the tournament
field.
Mid-Am Division: One or both competitors between
25 and 49 years of age
Senior Division: Both competitors between 50 and
59
years of age
Super Senior Division: Both competitors 60 years of
age or older
