NAPLES, Fla. — In runaway fashion, Jorge Garcia of Venezuela captured the 2015 Terra Cotta Invitational, winning by 11 shots over defending champion Davis Riley at Naples National Golf Club.

Garcia, a high-school senior set to play for the University of Florida this fall, did not record a bogey until his 43rd hole of the tournament — the par-four 7th — making 16 birdies before ever putting a blemish on his card. Garcia opened with rounds of 64 and 68 at the par-72 course, and closed with 70 on Sunday to win by double digits.

Riley, who will play for Alabama this fall, posted rounds of 70, 72, and 71 and finished alone in second place by a stroke over 2013 U.S. Mid-Amateur runner-up Bill Williamson and Southern Methodist junior Bryson DeChambeau.

Garcia was a birdie machine during the course of the tournament, but more importantly, he refused to make a bogey. To go along with his 18 birdies, an average of six per round, Garcia made just four bogeys (all in his final round) while the rest of the field averaged four bogeys per day.

Rounding out the top-five were 2014 South Beach International winner Gabriel Lench, who is committed to Liberty University, Sam Horsfield of England, a future teammate of Garcia, and Chun An Yu of Taiwan.

Horsfield, having won the New Year's Invitational earlier this year, was looking for his second win of the year. He got off to a great start with a 66 on day one, but struggled in his final two rounds, carding 73 and 76 to close out the tournament.
