Coleman Senior: Simson tops field
Paul Simson
JUNO BEACH, Fla. (April 27, 2013) -- Paul Simson, like Championship Division winner Mike McCoy, saved his best golf for the final round and posted the same score as McCoy (71) to come from behind and capture the Senior Division of the 2013 Coleman Invitational at prestigious Seminole Golf Club.
Miller started the day four strokes ahead of Simson, -- one of the most highly decorated senior golfers in the country who in 2010 captured the "trifecta" of the U.S., British, and Canadian Senior Amateurs -- but slid a bit (final round 77) which is easy to do at Seminole.
That opened the door for Simson, who posted 5-over 221 for a two shot victory over Miller and Pennsylvania's Chip Lutz. Alone in fourth was Doug LaCrosse.

ABOUT THE
Coleman Senior Invitational
Senior Division of one of the very best
amateur
events all year
long played on the last great private course
designed by Donald Ross. The course, not long
by
today's standards, lies hard by the Atlantic
Ocean. Oceanic winds and very fast greens
give
this course teeth. Ben Hogan once said 'If you
can play Seminole, you can play any course in
the world.'
The tournament is a 54-hole stroke play invitational
that draws an elite field of
mid-amateurs and seniors.
