Reach, Strohmeyer lead packed Palmetto
AIKEN, S.C. (June 8, 2013) -- Nicholas Reach of Athens, Ga. fired a third-round 2-under 68 to move into a first-place tie with Scott Strohmeyer atop the leaderboard at the Palmetto Amateur entering Sunday's final round.
Reach, a Georgia Bulldogs sophomore, shot 66 on Thursday and followed it with Saturday's 68 to get to 5-under, the tournament's low mark.
Strohmeyer, of the NCAA National Champion Alabama Tide, shot his third straight round in the 60s (69-67-69) and will be in the final pairing on Sunday.
Second-round leader Sam Love shot 72 in Round 3 and sits two shots back in fourth place.
Vanderbilt's Ben Fogler shot 69 and is in third place.
