Kilpatrick leads AGC Diablo Valley Am
BRENTWOOD, Calif. (March 9, 2013) -- Cal redshirt Sophomore Keelan Kilpatrick from New Zealand shot 3 under 68 to take 1-stroke lead after the first round of the amateurgolf.com Diablo Valley Amateur.
Kilpatrick's Cal team is No. 1 in the U.S. and this weekend he is "unofficially" fighting off several players on the 21st ranked team in the nation, the St. Mary's Gaels. Today at Deer Ridge Golf Course Gaels Sophomore Jay Pinkos had 6 birdies, including four in a row on holes 14 through 17, to shoot 2-under 69. And teammate Mac Marr, the freshman from Australia posted the only other score under par at 1 under 70.
Dave Stone leads the Senior Division by three strokes. Two players are tied for the lead at 67 in the Net Division, Vincent Steele is tied with 2013 Wine Country Cup winner Chris Ladd.
