Mitchell Gregson shot a tournament record low 7-under 63 in Round 2 to get to 8-under-par at the Metropolitan Open
St. Albans, MO (July 13, 2012) -- Mitchell Gregson shot a tournament record low 7-under 63 in Round 2 to get to 8-under for the championship and the lead heading to Saturday's final round. Getting the morning wave in Round 2, Gregson took advantage of the calmer conditions en route to 7 birdies and 11 pars.
Gregson will start the day 2 shots clear of 2008 & 2009 champion Scott Langley. Langley had his second 67 in two days to come in at 6-under. His fellow competitor Skip Berkmeyer followed up his opening 66 with an Even par 70 to finish at 136.
The final two pairings on Saturday will have some hometown flair. Bob Gaus had a 3-under 67 to get to 4th position and will play with Berkmeyer. Langley and Gregson will be in the final pairing. The final pairing of Gregson and Langley will go at 10:00am.
