Skip Berkmeyer leads the 2012 Metropolitan Open with a first round 66

ST. ALBANS, Mo. (July 12, 2012) -- 2006 champion Skip Berkmeyer leads the 7th Open Championship after Round 1 with an opening 4-under 66. Playing with Berkmeyer is 2008 and 2009 champion Scott Langley who had an opening 3-under 67. Langley is competing in his first Open as a professional. Garrett Jones, a professional from Wisconsin also finished his opening round with a 67. Four other golfers found their way around the 7120 yard Lewis & Clark Course at 1-under. In this group included 2012 Normandie Amateur champion Andy Frost, and professionals Brandon Holtz, Justin Bardgett andMitchell Gregson.
