Missouri State Amateur: Berkemeyer to face Bryant in finals
AUGUSTA, MO (June 25, 2011) -- Justin Bryant will face Skip Berkmeyer in the finals for the 2011 Missouri Amateur Championship.
Bryant was 2 down in his semi-final match with Jace Long through 6 holes, but a few Long mistakes and Bryant birdies gave Bryant the win, 2 and 1.
After losing the opening hole to Eric Ecker with a double bogey, Skip Berkmeyer came back with a vengeance as he reeled off six straight birdies to go 6 up. He eventually closed out the match on the 13th hole, 7 and 5.
Berkmeyer, one of Missouri’s finest amateurs will face the recent Wake Forest grad Bryant, in the final match tomorrow.
