Denver senior Jack Dozer fired a bogey-free 62 to medal at the Arizona Amateur with a 15-under total at Seville Golf Club

GILBERT, Ariz. — August 19, 2025 — AmateurGolf.com member Jack Dozer (Phoenix) delivered one of the most impressive performances in recent Arizona Amateur history, capturing medalist honors at the 101st Arizona Amateur Stroke Play Qualifying with a 15-under-par total of 129 at Seville Golf & Country Club.

Dozer opened qualifying with a steady 67 on Monday, then fired a brilliant 10-under 62 on Tuesday — a bogey-free round that included 10 birdies — to separate from the field. His two-day total left him two shots clear of Cody Massa (Cave Creek) and Wyatt Chapman (Gilbert), who both finished at 131 (-13).

The 144-player field was cut to the low 64 after stroke play, advancing into the match play bracket beginning Wednesday morning. Any ties for the final spots will be decided in a 7:00 a.m. playoff. The championship runs through August 23, with the winner earning an exemption into the 2026 U.S. Amateur Championship. Semi-finalists will also bypass local qualifying and advance directly to the regional stage of 2026 U.S. Amateur qualifying.

About Jack Dozer

The 6-foot-5 senior from Phoenix is a standout for the University of Denver men’s golf team, where he has steadily improved each season. A three-time Summit League Golfer of the Week, Dozer earned All-Summit League Second Team honors in 2024 and posted a 73.1 scoring average over 30 rounds, ranking 10th in the league. He owns multiple collegiate top-20 finishes and has a career-low round of 67 at Denver.

A product of Brophy Prep, Dozer was a 2021–22 Second Team All-State selection in high school.

With Tuesday’s 62 at Seville, Dozer has stamped himself as one of the top threats in this year’s Arizona Amateur match play bracket.
