The Jayhakws defended their title by posting the second lowest team 54-hole score in program history
The Kansas women's golf team defended its title at the Wisconsin Westbrook at Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria, Ariz., posting a team score of 39-under 825, the second-lowest team 54-hole score in program history.
The Jayhawks carded rounds of 272-278-275 to secure the nine-shot win. Under head coach Lindsay Kuhle, the Jayhawks now have five team titles and three individual medalists in 2024-25.
"We played great, consistent golf," Kansas head coach Lindsay Kuhle said at the conclusion of the final round to Kansas Athletics. "Lauren's five under for her to win two tournaments in a row is remarkable. She's probably one of the best college golfers in the country right now with the way she's playing, but she really helped us win this event."
Last year at the Westbrook Invitational, The Jayhawks shot 43-under to win the tournament by six shots over Oklahoma, who finished at 37-under and in solo second place. The 43-under 54-hole total of 821 was a program record.
Kansas also set 18-hole and 36-hole program records and led the 14-team field at 30-under after the opening two rounds.
UNLV finished in solo second place at 30-under, Kansas State finished in solo third place at 24-under, Louisiana Monroe and Wisconsin finished T4 at 10-under to round out the top five.
In the individual competition, Senior Lauren Clark of Kansas earned medalist honors on the individual side, claiming her second-straight individual title after finishing 17-under with rounds of 67-65-67.
With the 17-under score, Clark set a new Kansas 54-hole individual record.
Sophie Bert of Kansas State and Toa Yokoyama of UNLV finished T2 at 12-under, five shots back of Clark.
