Folds of Honor: Alabama men, Arizona women take home team titles

The Alabama men's golf team and Arizona women's golf team took home the team titles at the American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Mich.
Alabama finished 12-under to win by seven shots over Illinois, who finished in solo second place at 5-under. The Crimson Tide and Fighting Illini were the only two teams to finish under par for the week.
Alabama shot team rounds of 275-288-277 to get to 12-under and secure the comfortable win.
Texas finished in solo third place at 3-over, Michigan State finished in solo fourth place at 9-over, and Notre Dame finished in solo fifth place at 11-over.
Florida State finished in solo sixth place without star Luke Clanton, who will be teeing it up this week at Napa Valley for the PGA Tour's Procore Championship. Clanton is ranked No. 1 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings.
In the first year of the women's competition, Arizona won the team title after finishing 4-over, three shots better than Florida State, who finished in solo second place at 7-over.
The Wildcats carded team rounds of 289-297-282 to pull away from the field. They shot a final round 6-under 282 to secure the win.
Ohio State finished in solo third place at 16-over.
In the individual competition, Stetson transfer and current Alabama junior Dominic Clemons shot 9-under to win by one shot over Tommy Morrison of Texas. Clemons birdied holes No. 14, 15, and 17 to propel to the top of the leaderboard and jump Morrison, who took the lead after a 31 on the front nine.
Clemons shot rounds of 66-69-66 to get to 12-under. Over the summer, he won the Scottish Open Amateur by 17 shots and finished runner-up at the British Amateur.
Jackson Buchanan of Illinois finished in solo third place at 7-under, and Ashton McCulloch of Michigan State and Jacob Modleski of Notre Dame finished T4 at 6-under.
In the women's individual title, Mirabel Ting of Florida State finished 6-under, winning by two shots over Carolina Melgrati of Arizona, who finished in solo second place at 4-under.
Ting carded rounds of 70-72-68 to get to 6-under. She started her round three shots behind Melgrati, but her final round 4-under 68 saw her take the individual title.
Megan Streicher of North Carolina and Lottie Woad of Florida State finished T3 at 3-under, and Lauren Kim of Texas finished in solo fifth place at 1-under.
Woad is currently ranked No. 1 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings.
