The No. 1 ranked amateur in the world Gordon Sargent of Vanderbilt headlines the loaded field full of possible champions
The SEC is set to hold its men’s conference tournament once again this week at the Sea Island Golf Club on the Georgia coast.
The tournament will take place Wednesday through Sunday on the Seaside Course, which is also home to the PGA Tour’s RSM Classic in the fall.
Sea Island has served as the host site of the SEC tournament since 2001.
The conference championship opens with a 54-hole stroke-play tournament, which sets the eight-team field for match-play to decide the team champion. The stroke-play portion of the event will also determine the 2024 individual champion.

Florida won last year’s SEC title, defeating Vanderbilt in the match-play finals before going on to win the national championship as well. The Commodores won back-to-back SEC crowns in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
A new individual champion will be crowned this year. Tennessee’s Caleb Surratt won the league title last spring as a freshman. In his only season with the Volunteers, he was also named the SEC Freshman of the Year and earned First-Team All-American distinction.
Earlier this year, Surratt turned professional and joined LIV Golf, playing for the Legion XIII team captained by John Rahm.
The match-play quarterfinals will be held Saturday morning, and the semifinals will take place that afternoon. The semifinal matches will stream live on SEC Network+ starting at 3 p.m. Eastern time.
The championship match will take place on Sunday and will air live on the SEC Network at 8 a.m. Eastern.
