Westbrook Invitational: Kansas sets new program record

The Kansas women's golf team shot a new program record at the Westbrook Invitational at Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria, Ariz.
The Jayhawks shot 43-under to win the tournament by six shots over Oklahoma, who finished at 37-under and in solo second place. The 43-under 54-hole total of 821 was a program record.
Kansas also set 18-hole and 36-hole program records and led the 14-team field at 30-under after the opening two rounds
Kansas fired off a 19-under opening round, surpassing the previous 18-hole record of 14-under, which was set at the New Mexico Dick McGuire earlier this fall. Kansas closed the opening two rounds at 30-under, setting a new 36-hole program record. The previous record came after the first 36 holes of the UCF Challenge last season and was set at 10-under.
Oklahoma finished in solo second place at 37-under, Wisconsin finished in solo third place at 34-under, South Florida finished in solo fourth place at 28-under, and Nebraska rounded out the top five, finishing in solo fifth place at 26-under.
Chloe Chan of Wisconsin won the individual competition at 14-under, besting the field by one shot. Andrea Bergsdottir of Colorado State, Jordan Rothman of Kansas, and Savannah Barber of Oklahoma all finished T2 at 13-under. Chan made a birdie on the par-4 No. 18, holding off her chasers and securing the win in the tournament.
Chan shot an impressive final-round bogey-free 7-under 65, recording seven birdies. She carded three rounds of 69-71-65.
Kelli Ann Strand of Nebraska finished in solo fifth place at 12-under.
Chan is currently No. 699 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings.
Rothman led the way for the winners with a T2 at 13-under and carding rounds of 69-67-67. Rothman’s 54-hole score of 203 is a new individual program record, breaking her own record from the Ron Moore Intercollegiate. Rothman carded a bogey-free round of 5-under 67 in the final round, recording five birdies on the day.
