Tillie Claggett of Vanderbilt shot a blemish-free 9-under 61 to erase a six-shot deficit to win at the Patriot All-America Women's Invitational at The Wigwam on the Gold Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
Claggett shot rounds of 68-69-61 to get to 12-under.
Claggett shot a front nine 5-under 30 and backed that up with an impressive 4-under 31 coming home on the back nine. Claggett recorded birdies on Holes No. 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 14, 17, and 18. The birdies on No. 17 and No. 18 helped close the door on the field.
Melanie Green of South Florida had a chance to catch Claggett, but a par on No. 17 and a birdie on No. 18 was not enough to close the gap, and she finished two shots back of Claggett at 10-under.
Green started off strong, recording an 8-under 62 in the first round, but consecutive rounds of 1-under 69 helped Claggett close the gap in the final round.
Reagan Zibilski of Arkansas finished in solo third place at 6-under, and Alice Hodge of Florida State and Catie Craig of Western Kentucky finished T4 at 5-under.
