Illini Invitational: LSU completes the full sweep to win

LSU completed the team and individual sweeps at the Illini Invitatoanl At Medinah Country Club, Course No. 2, in Medinah, Ill.
Latanna Stone and
Ingrid Lindblad led the Tigers to the team victory, finishing as co-medalists at 27-under. The Tigers finished nine shots clear of the second-place finisher Ole Miss, who finished at 18-under.
Lindblad is currently ranked as the No. 1 women's amateur in the world.
For Lindblad, it now gives her an active streak of 14 consecutive rounds of par/under dating back to the final five rounds of a season ago.
For Stone, it is her third college medalist honor of her collegiate career at LSU, all coming in the last 10 tournaments dating back to the first tournament of the spring 2023 season.
She won the Nexus Collegiate in the Bahamas to open the 2023 calendar year and then was the co-medalist at the NCAA Regional in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Of course, Stone also during this calendar year finished solo eighth at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in April and was a finalist for the United States Women’s Amateur title in California in August.
LSU shot rounds of 275-287-275. LSU shot a final round of 13-under to hold off the field.
Northwestern finished in third place at 14-under, San Jose State finished in fourth place at 10-under, and Oklahoma State finished in fifth place at 4-under.
Lindblad and Stone finished tied for first place at 9-under. Lindblad shot rounds of 67-72-68, while Stone shot rounds of 69-70-68.
Faith Choi of Ohio State and Isabel Sy of Illinois finished T3 and one shot back of the leaders at 8-under. Tessa Kremser of San Jose State finished in solo fifth place at 6-under.
