AmateurGolf.com's Players of the Month for November, 2022
EVAN BECK
The former Wake Forest standout is trending well. He went 5-0 to lead the East team to a convincing win in the
East-West Cup Matches at Maridoe Golf Club and then posted a 2-0-1 record to spark Team USA's comeback over Europe at the
Concession Cup in Spain. Beck's timing was impeccable, as both performances came under the watchful eye of Walker Cup captain
Mike McCoy. It's no coincidence Beck was one of two mid-amateurs to land an invitation to the upcoming
Walker Cup Cup practice session in Juno Beach, Fla.
DOUG HANZEL and
BOB ROYAK
These two former U.S. Senior Amateur champions and longtime four-ball partners each went 4-1-2 to lead their teams to victory in the East-West Cup Matches and the Concession Cup in Spain. In between those two events, the duo won the
Georgia State Four-Ball championship for the fourth consecutive year, posting a winning score of 18-under 198 to earn a two-shot victory.
NATTHAKRITTA VONGTAVEELAP
The 19-year-old Thai player and reigning Thailand Women's Amateur Open champion finished runner-up in the
Women's Asia-Pacific Amateur for the second year in a row and was one of eight amateurs to advance to the LPGA's Q Series Final Stage. She has since turned pro and will either be on the LPGA Tour or Epson Tour next year.
SAKI BABA
The
U.S. Women's Amateur champion finished sixth in the
Women's Asia-Pacific Amateur and made the cut in two Japan LPGA events, including the Itoen Ladies Golf Tournament and the Daio Paper Elleair Ladies Open, where she finished 30th and 15th, respectively. She has now made five professional cuts in 2022.
