North Carolina, Georgia Tech's Forrester set pace at Colonial

David Ford and Austin Greaser shot 4-under-par 66s in the second round to lead the University of North Carolina to the 36-hole of the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational at historic Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
At 10 under par, the Tar Heels will take a four shot lead over No. 2 Stanford intoTuesday's final round. Fifth-ranked Arizona State is third at 3 under, Pepperdine is fourth at 2 under and No. 6 Texas Tech is fifth at 1 under.
Ford and Greaser both shot rounds of 70-66 and are tied for third place at 4-under 136, two strokes behind Georgia Tech's Bartley Forrester. Stanford's Michael Thorbjornsen is second at 5 under and Ford and Greaser are in a group with Texas Tech's Ludvig Aberg and Pepperdine's William Mouw at 4 under.
North Carolina also counted matching rounds of 69-70 by Ryan Burnett and Dylan Menante to surge to the top of the team leaderboard.
Forrester shot rounds of 69-65 and at 6-under 134, has a 1-shot lead over Thorbjornsen, who is coming off his first collegiate victory at the Fighting Illini Invitational.
The senior from Gainesville, Fla. played a bogey-free afternoon round with five birdies on the par-70 Colonial Country Club. He had one bogey against a pair of birdies in his morning round for a 1-under 69.
The Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational features six of Golfweek's top 10-ranked teams plus the last two national champions in Pepperdine and Texas.
