amateurgolf.com Player Profile: Kyle Prolo
If the summer of 2008 is any indication, Kyle Prolo has a lot to look forward to when he enters the University of San Francisco as a senior transfer student this Fall.
First, there was a trip to Torrey Pines for the US Open, where as a spectator and he ended up winning a nearest-to-the-pin competition by making a hole-in-one on a golf simulator.
The lucky shot won the De La Salle HS alum an all expenses paid trip to attend the U.S. Open in 2009.
Prolo also qualified for the USGA Public Links (Denver), as medalist at San Jose's Coyote Creek Golf Club.
And if that wasn't enough, he won the NCGA Public Links at the revered (and sometimes feared) Spyglass Golf Links by six by carding a tour-quality 4-under par over 36 holes.
Prolo said his putter was a big part of bringing home the biggest title of his career.
“That’s the best I’ve putted in a long time.”
