The 'Chipping-In' experiences include golf at Pebble Beach with Jim Nance, lessons with Butch Harmon, and golf with Justin Thomas
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted every industry, with golf being hard hit right as the annual spring boom in play was getting started. Despite that fact, the Acushnet Company has stepped up with highly impactful efforts.
After donating 100,000 masks and PPE supplies to hospitals, and retrofitting their Massachusetts plants to produce PPE equipment, the company's main brands decided to donate 15% of online sales to the CDP COVID-19 Response Fund. (That effort continues through the month of April so visit Titleist, FootJoy, Scotty Cameron, or KJUS websites to stock up now.)
And they weren't done yet -- the company is also participating in Rain Suits for Responders to collect new or gently used golf rain suits and deliver them directly to healthcare workers on the frontlines. (This writer will be going through his inventory right after posting.)
Today, Titleist and FootJoy are tapping into their amazing network of Ambassadors and Tour Players to auction off once-in-a-lifetime experiences with 100% of the proceeds going to CDP's COVID-19 Response Fund.
The week-long online auction, which begins today (April 23) at 10:00 a.m. EDT and closes on April 30 at 9:00 p.m. EDT, is being presented by Titleist, FootJoy, Vokey, Scotty Cameron and Kjus.
“Like so many others, the Acushnet team is committed to being a positive force in support of front line health care workers, the local communities in which we operate, golf professionals, and others in the industry, who have been most affected by this pandemic,” said David Maher, President and CEO, Acushnet Company.
WHAT''S UP FOR BID
Here are some of the twelve Titleist/FootJoy experiences you can bid on -- or just enjoy thinking about while watching the money being raised.. How about an opportunity to tee it up with a top-ranked tour players Ian Poulter or Justin Thomas, or schedule a golf lesson with a Butch Harmon or Peter Kostis? You can get fit like a Tour Player with Bob Vokey, or experience Pebble Beach with local resident Jim Nance. (Nance recorded a personal video message about the program from his amazing replica green of Pebble Beach no. 7 which you can view here.)
