If you are reading this article, you’ve already heard the buzz around CBD being an effective natural pain reliever and anti-anxiety alternative for golfers. Products featuring CBD are showing up in pro shops, national golf retailers, and in the bags of PGA Tour players. Charley Hoffman, Lucas Glover, and Morgan Hoffman have all signed endorsement deals with CBD supplement companies this past year. Industry analysts predict the market in the U.S. will reach $1 billion a year by 2020.
According to a study published on the National Institutes of Health website (nih.gov), certain components of cannabis, including CBD, are in fact responsible for its pain-relieving effects and reducing inflammation. CBD has also shown promise as a treatment for anxiety, leading many golfers living with these disorders to become interested in this natural approach.
For competitive amateur golfers, it is important to know that the USGA drug policy follows the PGA Tour’s drug policy, which follows the United States Anti-Doping Agency.
On their list of banned substances, cannabidiol (CBD) is clearly not prohibited. They do warn athletes that cannabidiol extracted from cannabis plants may contain varying levels of THC and other cannabinoids. For competitive amateurs and professionals, this means that you must closely read the label on CBD products that you are using. Cannabidiol, which is processed from the hemp plant, is legal if it contains no more than 0.3% THC. CBD Manufacturers are required by law to print the total cannabinoid levels on their packaging. This includes the level of THC in the product and the lab where testing was performed.
Chronic pain and anxiety are both something that many amateur and professional golfers face. We still have a lot to learn, but CBD may be prove to be a better and more natural option for managing these symptoms than what is currently available. Make sure you consult with your physician before you start a CBD regiment for your next round.

From the manufacturer:
Jetty Extracts was founded in 2013 with a passion for cannabis, innovation and giving back (ok, surfing, too). We were among the first to bring cannabis vape to patients in the legal California medical market — and to the masses in today’s legal California recreational market.
Along the way, we pioneered methods of extraction that remove harmful chemicals and other additives, creating the first pure line of cannabis oil extracts back in 2014. Our in-house R&D is uncovering new ways of extracting and preserving cannabinoids like CBD—and removing others, like THC. As one of California’s biggest cannabis oil producers, we’ve built our company and products on a reputation for uncompromising craft and quality.
It’s with this experience, commitment and transparency that we apply all we know about the amazing cannabis plant’s legal cousin—hemp—to launch our new line of CBD products. We hope you enjoy it!
