Buzz Fly and Tim Jackson last won this title in 2016
Fly and Jackson combined for a 5-under 139 over 36 holes of stroke-play qualifying at the Grove in College Grove, Tenn. They tied Phil Powers and Michael Albonetti at that number, though the latter team took the top seed.
The winners would see that team again, as it turns out. Both teams advanced to the championship match. Fly won the first hole with a par to give his team an immediate advantage that Power and Albonetti took back on the next hole. It went much like that for the entire day.
Jackson, who brought 20 TGA state championship titles into this week, clinched the 2-and-1 victory for himself and Fly with a birdie on No. 17.
In the super senior division, Ronnie Law and Gary Pierce won their match against Jim Webb and Bob Waldschmidt on the 21st hole to take the title.🏆🏆🏆
