SEWANEE, Tenn. (Sept. 18, 2018) – Susan Miller held on to win the Tennessee Senior Women’s Amateur on Tuesday after setting the pace in the first round at the Course at Sewanee with a 2-over 74. Miller added a 7-over 79 in the second round for a two-shot victory.

Miller’s first round included an eagle at the 210-yard, par-4 13th. She also had three birdies and six bogeys. On Tuesday, Miller had two doubles and a triple, but it wasn’t enough to derail her title run.

By winning the title, Miller effectively held off two-time defending senior champion Lynda Wimberly, who had rounds of 76-79 for a 9-over 155 total. Jean Kraft also finished on that number to tie for second.

Sarah Ingram, a former Duke All-American who owns three U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur titles, was solo fourth with back-to-back rounds of 80 for a 14-over total. Ingram plays out of the Golf Club of Tennessee (host of last month’s U.S. Women’s Amateur).

The mid-amateur title went to former Memphis women’s golf standout Andrea Cropper, who had rounds of 80-71 for a 5-over total. Cropped finished three shots ahead of Chattanooga women’s golf alumna Kayla Murrell. This marks Cropper’s first Tennessee Golf Association title. She also plays at the Golf Club of Tennessee.
