Nurski defends Missouri Am Title and Third Overall

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (June 24, 2018) - For the second straight year and third time in his career Brad Nurski has won the Missouri Amateur. Playing at Dalhousie Golf Club Nurski bested No. 22 Brooks Jungbluth 3&1 in the final.
The top-seed after earning medalist honors to begin the week, Nurski feel behind early before rallying to win the match 3&1. It wasn't an easy road to the title match for Nurski as he needed a 1 up win in the Round of 32 and a 19 hole victory in the quarterfinals.
Jungbluth most difficult match came in the Round of 64 where he handled No. 43 Brett Windsor 2&1.
MATCH PLAY QUALIFYING
In match play qualifying Nurski earned a four-stroke victory with a 9-under finish.
In the first round Nurski fired a 5-under 67 before carding a second round 4-under 68 that included some late fireworks with birdies on the last two holes to seal the deal.
Overall for the week Nurski, the 2014 U.S. Mid-Amateur runner-up, carded 12 birdies and only three bogeys with his best stretch coming on his second nine of the first round. After starting on No. 10 Nurski birdied four-times between Nos. 2-6.
Chance Holden took second place at 5-under, Travis Simmons was third at 3-under while Christopher Ferris and Tim Holmes were 2-under in a tie for fourth.
