ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA (December 22, 2017) - William Moll took the Jones Cup Junior Invitational lead on day two with a 7-under 63 and then sealed the deal with a 2-under 68 to finish 6-under and as the two-stroke winner over Jackson Suber.
Playing at Sea Island Golf Resort Moll started slowly on Friday with a 2nd hole bogey and he was even-par for his final round after nine holes but a bogey-free 2-under 33 second nine finally gave the Vanderbilt commit the separation he needed.
Overall Moll birdied four-times and bogeyed twice during the final round with his back nine birdies falling on Nos. 10 and 16.
Runner-up Jackson Shuber shot a flawless 2-under 68 in the final round but his two birdies proved not to be enough. The Ole Miss commit carded one birdie on each side with the circles coming on Nos. 5 and 15.
Akshay Bhatia who started the day one back ended up third at 2-under while first round leader and Wake Forest commit Connor Creasy and Texas commit Pierceson Coody shared fourth at 1-over.
