Peake, Steingart hold Day One SOS Ralph Bogart Lead

PALM CITY, FL (December 5, 2017) - With day one of the SOS Ralph Bogart in the books Allen Peake and David Steingart are both 1-under and tied for the lead.
Playing at Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club Peake started on No. 10 and promptly birdied his first hole before double-bogeying the 11th to drop to 1-over. The slip up didn't faze Peake as he birdied No. 15 to return to even-par and then birdied Nos. 1, 3 and 5 to reach 3-under. Peake was in position to lead alone after day one but he finished with two bogeys over the final four holes.
Peake has put together a solid 2017 campaign in AGC Senior events earning points four times with his best finish a fifth place showing at the Geranium Senior Invitational.
Co-leader David Steingart started on the second nine as well and at the turn he was 1-over. On his second nine Steingart quickly returned to even-par with a birdie on No. 1 only to fall to 2-over with a bogey on the ensuing hole. Unfazed Steingart birdied the 3rd and then eagled the par-5 6th to reach 1-under.
Of late Steingart has played well in the SOS Ralph Bogart finished tied for seventh last year and tied for 12th in 2014.
Fourth-ranked AGC Senior Keith Decker is third at even-par, Happy Rakestraw is fourth at 2-over and in fifth it is Randy Yonder at 3-over.
SENIOR DIVISION
Following a six birdie, five bogey round Joe Hackler sits at 1-under and two-strokes ahead of four others tied for second. The 1-over-par second place group includes Gary Kirwan, Pete McDade, Ken Redfern and Bob Allshouse.
GRAND MASTER DIVISION
Leading the way in the Grand Master Division is Skip Snow at level-par. For Snow his first round was comprised of four birdies and four bogeys. One shot back at 1-over in second place is Steve Earsley while in third at 2-over it is Gary Johnson, John Casstevens and Bill Robischon.
