MADISON, MS (July 23, 2017) - With a final round 3-under 69 amateur Eddie Brescher finished 9-under and as the the tree-stroke winner of the Mississippi PGA Trustmark Invitational hosted by Reunion Golf and Country Club.
Brescher, the assistant coach for the Southern Miss Men's Golf Team, did most of his work during the middle of his round as he birdied five-times and bogeyed twice from the 3rd to the 11th hole. After parring the opening two holes Brescher, who won the Mississippi Four-Ball in April, birdied the 3rd and after a bogey on the 4th birdied four of the next six holes to reach 10-under.
A bogey on the 11th did drop Brescher back a stroke but he was able to seal the victory with pars on each of the final seven holes.
Mississippi State's Cameron Clarke took second at 6-under, Nathan Kitson and Steve Wilson shared third at 3-under while in fifth at 1-under it was the 1-under David Coleman.
