Paul Chaplet, Isabella Fierro pick up wins at the South American Amateur plus more
(January 23, 2017) -- The Australian Amateur's concluded on Sunday and in the men’s edition Matias Sanchez was able to take home the title in his home country. World Amateur Golf Rankings No. 4 Hye-jin Choi claimed the Women’s Division.
At the South American Amateur Arizona State commit Paul Chaplet won the Men’s Division while Isabella Fierro took home the Women’s Division.
Second-ranked amateur in the world Curtis Luck played in the European's Tour Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and he finished 3-under for the week.
More amateur news in the professional game, this time at the Career Builder Challenge where Amateur Division winner Dave Colby recorded a final round ace.
At the Jones/Doherty Championship 12-year-old Alexa Pano continued to put the golfing world on notice.
In regional news Kevin Roberts won the South Carolina Tournament of Champions and Sean McWilliams took home the Tempe Amateur.
