CORAL SPRINGS, FL (December 21, 2016) -- The lead continues to seesaw back and forth at the Women's Dixie Amateur and with one round remaining it is 15-year-old Yujeong Son leading the way. Son is 4-under after an even-par 72 on the Woodlands Country Club East Course and she will carry a slim lead into the final round.
Son is one of the top junior players in the country and she is a two-time AJGA All-American. In 2016 she reached the semifinals of the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship and earned three top-10 finishes in AJGA events.
13-year-old Elle Nachmann is 3-under and one behind. Nachmann, the midway leader, gave back a pair of shots on Wednesday with a 2-over 74.
2018 USC commit Jennifer Chang is the only other player in red figures and she is currently third at 1-under-par. Mika Liu who is headed to Stanford next fall is one shot further back in fourth with an even-par tally. Liu is presently the 21st ranked player in the Women's World Amateur Golf Rankings.
A half dozen more players are tied for fifth at 1-over and are only five behind. Included in the group is Arizona State sophomore Linnea Strom.
Following the third round came a 54-hole cut with 75 players advancing to the final round to be played on the West Course.
