(August 24, 2016) -- The best amateurs over the age
of
25 have concluded qualifying for the 2016 U.S.
Women's
Mid-Amateur, being held this year at The Kahkwa Club
in
Erie, PA from September 10-15.
Last year Lauren Greenlief defeated
Margaret Shirley 2&1 in the final to become the
youngest
champion in tournament history.
Greenlief will face a strong field as she tries to
defend her title with all qualifiers
and exempt players playing 36-holes of stroke-play
qualifying, beginning September 10th, to determine the
top 64 for match play.

ABOUT THE
U.S. Women's Mid-Am Qualifying
The U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur qualifier is open to
all
female competitors with an Index of 9.4 or lower
who
will be at least 25 years of age at the start of the
championship. Format is 18-holes of stroke play.
Qualifying sites are
scattered across the U.S.
