COLLIERVILLE, TN (August 25, 2016) -- Tim Jackson fired a final round 3-under 69, to finish 2-under and atop the Tennessee Senior Amateur leaderboard. Jackson, who won the 2016 George L. Coleman Senior Invitational, took the lead on the first day at Spring Creek Ranch with a 3-under 69, but struggled on Wednesday shooting a 4-over 76 and as a result he started the day 1-over and one-stroke behind Greg Guinn. However, as Guinn struggled on the front nine with a 38 to fall to 2-over while Jackson held steady before making a run late. Following 11 straight pars to start his round, Jackson birdied the 12th only to give it back with his only bogey of the day on the 13th. From then on it was flawless golf for the two-time U.S. Mid-Amateur winner as he surged to the top of the leaderboard with three birdies on the final five holes.
