Dru Love wins Golden Isles Invitational

BRUNSWICK, GA (July 2, 2016) -- Dru Love finished an impressive 15-under as he won the Golden Isles Invitational by five-strokes. Love put together three consecutive under-par rounds, 67-69-65 at Brunswick Country Club.
Love, a senior at Alabama, is the son of 20-time PGA Tour winner Davis Love III. The best round of the week for Love came during Sunday's final round when he finished with a 7-under 65.
Kevin Benstead finished 10-under and in second place, Peter Persons and Jason Webster shared third after finishing 9-under. Dillion Board (Coastal Carolina) was fifth following an 8-under 54-hole tally.

The Golden Isles Invitational dates back to
1949. That year, 'Dynamite' Goodloe claimed
the inaugural championship - marking the
beginning of a long-standing tradition at
Brunswick Country Club. Through the years,
this event has gained notoriety and popularity
and continues to attract players of all ages
and ability levels.
The Golden Isles Invitational is traditionally
played over the July 4th holiday week and
many players and their families travel to
Brunswick and St. Simons to enjoy the golf,
the beach and the celebration of our nation's
independence. Invitations are mailed out the first
week
of May.
