South Carolina leads General Hackler Championship after Day One

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (March 12, 2016)--South Carolina (560) will take a three-stroke lead into the final round of the General Hackler Championship being played at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.
Through 36-holes South Carolina has been paced by three players in the top-10. Freshman Will Miles (3rd) is at 5-under, senior Matthew NeSmith (T4) posted a two round score of 4-under while freshman Scott Stevens (T8) tallied a 3-under total.
No. 23 Virginia (563) sits three back of South Carolina. Defending champion and first round leader North Florida (579) dropped to seventh place in round two.
Virginia junior Jimmy Stanger (8-under) finished the second round with a two-stroke lead following a 6-under 66. Stanger played a flawless round birding four holes and eagling the par-5 fourth.
