St. Ives Country Club, including Bob Royak, Scott Cunningham, Alex Brueggermann, and Terrance Evans, finished with a total score of 349

STATHAM, Ga. — St. Ives Country Club finished with a total score of 349 to win the Georgia Team Championship. The winning team was made up of Bob Royak of Alpharetta, Scott Cunningham of Alpharetta, Alex Brueggemann of Atlanta and Terrance Evans of Atlanta. The 23rd playing of this team competition took place at The Georgia Club, October 31-November 1. The victory marks the first at the Georgia Team Championship for St. Ives. Two clubs tied for second to share runner-up honors at 351, including Athens Country Club and Cartersville Country Club. The foursome from Athens included Don Carpenter III of Athens, Will Kahlstorf of Watkinsville, Kyle Stiles of Athens and Keith Guest of Athens. Cartersville Country Club, who has won this competition three times, was made up of Jayce Stepp of Cartersville, Chad Branton of Cartersville, Cameron Hooper of Atlanta and Cres Dodd of Calhoun. Rivermont Golf Club (John Beringer of Atlanta, Byron Lay of Alpharetta, Michael Chapin of Atlanta, Mitch Kim of Cumming) finished fourth at 352. Wrapping up the overall top five were two clubs at 357 - Berkeley Hills Country Club and Idle Hour Club. The team from Berkeley Hills included Mike Cromer of Peachtree Corners, Taylor Smith of Covington, Greg Hamilton of Atlanta and Bubba Gwyn of Duluth. Idle Hour's foursome Allen Peake of Macon, Keith Holmes of Macon, Gay McMichael of Macon and Phil Hardin of Macon. Entries were open to male amateur golfers who are Georgia residents and members of a GSGA Member Club. A club official must have authorized the team's entry, and entries were accepted on a first-come, first-served basis up to a full field of 30 teams. The Georgia Club played to 6,929 yards and a par 72.

Entries: Open to four-man teams of male amateur golfers who are selected by their GSGA Member Club. Format: One round of four-ball stroke play and one round of best three of four individual stroke play
