ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The Old Warson Cup, a match play tournament conducted by the St. Louis Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association, is down to its final four participants as first and second round match-ups took place on Saturday.

Notable mid-amateur player Skip Berkmeyer advanced to the semis with two different 3-and-2 victories on day one — one over Buddy Allen and the other over Ted Moloney. Berkmeyer will face Kansas State senior Kyle Weldon, who redshirted in the 2014-2015 season. Weldon, of Des Peres, Mo., defeated Van Pierce 4-and-2 in the morning and Seth Smith 4-and-3 in the afternoon.

The upper bracket will feature two Central Missouri teammates as Cy Moritz, a graduating senior from Owensville, Mo., and Teddy Jones, a redshirt junior from Wildwood will battle it out.

Moritz, the 16-seed in the tournament, knocked out the top-seeded Phil Caravia 5-and-3 in the morning match, and followed that up with a 4-and-3 victory over Alex Cusumano.

Jones has had an interesting route to the semifinals. He first defeated another one of his Central Missouri teammates, senior Sam Migdal, and then faced Sam's older brother Joe, who also played for Central Missouri, 3-and-1.

Both the semifinal and championship matches are set to take place at Old Warson Country Club on Sunday, beginning at 7 a.m. CDT.
