Final-round 66 for Ryan Chin secures NYC Amateur win
Ryan Chin
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Ryan Chin, a Canadian native living in New York City, played in the New York City Amateur for his first time.
It went well, to say the least.
Opening with a 71 on Saturday, Chin, 36, posted 74-66 in Sunday's 36-hole journey to capture a three-shot win over Trevor Randolph.
"I just love the course and the greens certainly fit my putting style," Chin told Staten Island Live.
Chin is originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, but now lives in the N.Y.C. metropolitan area and plays out of Arcola Country Club in New Jersey.
Second-place finisher Randolph played well in Sunday afternoon's round, as well, shooting 69 but finishing three back of Chin. He secured the runner-up position by three over Matt Rendell and Philip Gutterman.
