John Bearrie wins Fort Worth City by two
FORT WORTH, Texas (August 31, 2014) — John Bearrie and Jeff Murray ran away from the field at the Fort Worth City Championship. In 36 holes, the two combined to shot all four of their rounds in the 60's while the entire field only had one other score below 70.

Day one had Bearrie leading the tournament's defending champion Murray the after shooting 66 on Saturday. The 2012 Texas Mid-Amateur champion shot 68 on Sunday to keep Murray from winning in back-to-back years.

Murray shot 67-69, finishing two shots behind the winner Bearrie but six strokes ahead of the next closest player.

Lorenzo Johnson and Sean Martin finished in a tie for third at 142, with Martin being the only other player besides Bearrie and Murray to shoot in the 60's.

36-hole individual stroke play championship open to male golfers age 18 and over by date of event, with a verifiable USGA handicap. Collegiate golf team members are not eligible. Flights by handicap: (0-3) (4-6) (7-10) (11-13) (14-17) (18-21) (22-25) (26-up).
