Franklin, Seramin fire 69; Seramin holes out from fairway on 18 for eagle
SAN GERONIMO, Calif. (July 19, 2014) -- Defending champion Alex Franklin and Matt Seramin hold the first round lead at the Marin County Amateur, a satellite even for the AmateurGolf.com Tour.
Both players shot three-under 69 on Saturday at San Geronimo Golf Course.
Franklin and Seramin each hail from Marin; the tournament has a bit of home field advantage.
Seramin had quite the finish on Saturday, as he holed out on the 406-yard par-4 18th hole for an eagle.
Franklin, meanwhile, will look to repeat last year's fantastic performance. He posted a final round 66 to win the 2013 Marin County Amateur. He has been on fire of late, as he took runner-up at this year's Trans-Miss Championship.
Matt Cohn and and Nicolas Noya are tied for third at one-under 71.
Mark Miller leads the senior division with a one-over 73.
