Zach Blair wins Utah Winterchamps

SAINT GEORGE, Utah (March 17, 2014) -- Zac Blair, Dana Nelson, and Sadie Palmer win titles at UGA Winterchamps.
Blair posted an error free final round at Sun River and tallied a two-day total of 99 Stableford points to easily win the men’s title. His 99 points is the second highest ever recorded in tournament history. Nick Killpack holds the record with more than 100 points.
It was the fifth straight UGA tournament victory of the young season for the four-time UGA Player of the Year. Blair’s final round consisted of 10 pars and eight birdies and under the Stableford Scoring system that gives two points for pars and four points for birdies it was a 52 point day to go along with his opening round of 47 points at Coral Canyon. Jordan Rodgers finished second, seven points behind Blair.
Dana Nelson won the Senior Division with a strong showing of 41 points in the final round and a total of 77 for the tournament, just one point ahead of Mike Jorgensen and two points ahead of Kirk Siddens. The Championship Senior Division played at Bloomington and Coral Canyon.
Sadie Palmer had a super finish to win the Women’s title with a total of 76 Stableford points, five ahead of Sue Nyhus and Jessica Sloot. Palmer scored 45 points in the second round at Bloomington Country Club with five birdies and only one bogey. Her first round of 31 came at Sun River.

field size of 250 players
Flight Information: The field will be broken into
flights as determined using the Handicap Index as of
March 1st. Flights will be exclusively gross or net,
this info will be sent in the pre-tournament email.
Handicaps for the event will be calculated from the
March 1 revision.
Eligibility: Winterchamps is open to all UGA
members
18 years of age and older. Junior players with
Handicap Indexes 9.9 or better will also be eligible
to
play.
Format: 36 hole stroke play using a modified
stableford format. Scoring will be as follows:
Double Bogey or worse - 0 points
Bogey - 1 point
Par - 2 points
Birdie - 4 points
Eagle - 6 points
Double Eagle - 8 points
