Texas South Four-Ball: Forbes/Williams hold lead
MISSOURI CITY, Tx. (Feb. 22, 2014) -- The team of Chris Forbes and Charlie Williams hold a narrow lead after the first round of the South Four-Ball Championship, presented by Club Champion.
Quail Valley Golf Course – El Dorado, is the host club for the first event of the 2014 Texas Golf Association South Regional Series. Forbes / Williams turned in a bogey-free 7-under par 64 that included five birdies on their opening nine, El Dorado’s back nine.
They hold a slim lead over three teams at 6-under par 65. Those three teams are Trevor Hyde / Ed Sanchez, Trent Booher / Brett Gill, and Nick Cristea / Blanton Hansen. In all, 16 teams carded rounds of 3-under par 68 or better during Saturday’s play. Bob Kearney picked up his 8th career hole-in-one on Saturday.
