Dixie Women's: Aubert grabs lead
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (Dec. 18, 2013) –
France’s Shannon Aubert posted her second-
straight under-par round Wednesday to take
the lead after the second round of the 72-hole
Dixie Amateur at Heron Bay Golf Club.
Aubert’s two-round total of 138 (68-70) put
her one stroke ahead of Nicole Morales of
South Salem, N.Y., who followed an opening-
round 70 with a three-under-par 69 on a
windswept course which allowed only six
under-par rounds all day in the field of 112
players.
First-round leader Mariana Sims from Austin,
Texas, fell back into eighth position after a 78
and was at 144, six shots back.
Mariah Stackhouse was in third following an
even-par round. The Riverdale, Ga., resident
was at 141, a shot ahead of defending
champion Isabelle Lendl and Meghan Stasi.
Lendl, from Port St. Lucie, Fla., playing in the
final group of the day, is at 142 while Stasi,
the head golf coach at the University of
Mississippi, followed her opening-round 69
with a one-over 73.
