Hanzel continues to lead Dixie Senior
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (Dec. 14, 2013) — For the second straight day, U.S. Senior Amateur champion Doug Hanzel shot a two-under par round of 70. The two scores have him leading the Dixie Senior Amateur by a single stroke heading into Sunday's final round at Heron Bay Golf Club.
Jack Hall, winner of this year's Oglethorpe and Georgia Senior Invitationals, is alone in second place after his own round of 70 on Saturday put him a stroke back of Hanzel at three-under.
The only two other players under par after 36 holes are Mark Esposito and Rick Woulfe, who both sit at two-under par through two rounds.
2012's winner Brady Exber shot 73-72 through Saturday and is in a tie for fifth place.
In the Super Senior division, Steve Rose fired back-to-back even-par 72s to take a three-shot lead into Sunday. First-round leader Bill Dorece, who shot 70 on Friday, shot 77 in the second round but still sits just three strokes back in a tie for second.
